Privacy policy

The legally binding privacy policy is the German version (Datenschutzerklärung). This English page summarises it for convenience.

2. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by [hosting provider, location]. When you visit, server log files are processed automatically (IP address, date/time, page requested, browser, operating system, referrer). Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, stable operation). Logs are deleted after [7/14] days.

3. No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services. Fonts are served from our own server; no connection to Google Fonts or other third parties is made.

The only local storage: if you tick items on the "Moving checklist" page, that progress is stored solely in your browser (localStorage) and is not transmitted to us.

4. Contact via form, e-mail, phone or WhatsApp

If you use the request form, your details (name, contact data, moving details) are processed to handle your request and possible follow-up questions. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures).

Depending on the option you choose, the form sends your details to our e-mail address, opens a WhatsApp message sent by you, [or forwards them to us via the service [Formspree/Web3Forms, provider, seat]; a data processing agreement is in place with this provider].

WhatsApp: if you contact us via WhatsApp, the privacy policy of WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. additionally applies. We use WhatsApp solely to communicate with you and do not sync address books.

Data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required, at the latest after statutory retention periods expire (up to 10 years under HGB/AO if a contract is concluded).

5. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Consent given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – for Lower Saxony: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover.
